urgent OPT question

hi

i have an empolyment offer and the start date is around june 15th.. i still havent applied for my OPT.. is there an faster way for me to get an OPT or is it safe to start on my CPT and then later change it?

You may be able to get your card on time. But most of the time it takes about three months. I'd apply for it now, and start working when you have the card in hand. If you don't have the card in hand, and you must start working - get CPT in the meanwhile. :)

thanks for the reply.. the international students office in my univ said that they might do some expedited processing..they dont guarantee anything, but they say it is possible.. do you think is it gonna work? they say no to cpt during the graduating semester usually...
 
I am in the same boat. I have got the job offer and my intl center asked me to attach it with the EAD form. They said they will try to send a note with my form to expedite it. Has anyone got EAD card in a month???
 
I was just told by my intenational center office that they will not process CPT as my graduation date is in May..:(
 
I am on the same boat. I want CPT but the lady in Office of international students said my job has to be related to my thesis. I don't know what to do. I need a OPT in two months.
