Updating SS record after getting Green Card

I hope you can help me answer this question.

I have unrestricted SS card based on my asylum status but now I have GC based on asylum

Do I have to go to SS office to update my record?

Did you guys go to SS office to update your immigration status after you got your GC?

Any input will be highly appreciated. Thank you

It's always better to keep your record up to date with the SS office. You can go and update the record. It doesn't take that much time. They will not issue another replacement card because you already have it. They will just update the status code in their system.

I read on SS documents some where that once my status changes/get permanant residend, I need to update the record with social security, I would definaltely advise you to go there and get it done. It may/may not benefit you, but definatley will not harm you.
