Hi to all,

My interview in coming up this Friday and I am getting really stressed about it. I am applying on 5 Y LPR basis. I do have a criminal record on my file. In 2001 I was given a citation/ arrest for open container in the vehicle as a passinger. I was not actually arrested/ boooked but it showed on my record as an arrest. In 2002 I was arrested again on charges of domestic violence and trespass.- Domestic Violence was dismissed by prosecutor and I plead Nolo Contendre to trasspassing. I was sentenced on two days in jail ( credit for served time) and 6 month unsupevised probation, which I completed.
Since this time, I did not have any issues beside couple speeding tickets.
In 2006 I recieved my LPR and I did disclose arrests to the IO. IO went trough the questions and clearified the issue, approving my aplication.
Now, I am concerned that arrests may comeback to hunt me in my citinzenship interview. Should I be concern about it? Does anyone have any expiriences that could compare?
Thank you all in advance.

To sumarize my question, can the events that did not effect me recieving GC, effect my citizenship outcome?

All the Best for your interview

Please do let us know how the interview went through. I am sure you will do good as you have all court documents and dispositions. Make sure to take original / certified copies of documents. Also, a one page letter to explain your part of story would also help.

I will post my expirience as soon as done.
One more question. Is hiring attorney to go with me on the interivew worth in this situation?
Thanks

No Attorney

I agree with BigJoe5. Going through Attorney will be a waste of money. Except peace of mind you do not get anything. Your case is simple.

Interview

So, I had my interview. Here is my experience:
I arrived about 15 minutes before scheduled time. Right on time I was called in by the IP. IO was very professional and courteous. He swore me in and and we started with the civic questions. After I passed the question and writing part, IO went through the application, question by question. He went over my arrest and the explanation statement and asked me if I had nay encounters with the law since that offense. As I did not I answer NO. He went through the rest of the application and asked me to sign and initial on the application. After that he told me that I will be receiving Oath Letter in the mail :D.
All and all, 20 minutes of great experience.
I want to thank all for help and support trough this process.
Regards,

I don't have any notice from the IO. He did gave me some paper with basic information and residence. I acctualy forgot the paper at the office. He did clearly state that I passed and I will recieve notice for Oath. What is the form 653?

I guess I wasn't the only one who had a bad "interview" (more like interrogation). My IO was just plain nasty to me, totally unprofessional and very confrontational about minor details.

waiting31: did you have your arrest record with you?

Form N-652, Naturalization Interview Results, is used recording the results of the English and civics tests at the end of each examination, unless the USCIS Officer serves the applicant with a denial notice before he or she leaves the office. It is also used to record the applicant’s interview results.

If supervisory review or further review or information is required it would be indicated on this form.

See also AFM Chapter 72.2(d) states:

N–652: Naturalization Interview Result Form:

Record the applicant’s examination results on the N–652. These results include the date of the examination, the name of the officer who conducted the examination, current status of the application, and the results of the English/civics test. Complete this form during the examination and give it to the applicant at its conclusion.

I did have my record and disposition. Officer was realy great. Demeanor was professional, he seemed strict but just. I cannot complain. Sorry to hear you had a rough time on your interview.

No Updates

Hi,
