Unique case-Can I work at a different area?

Hi all,
My case is EB2-NIW,My I-485 is pending about one year,No FP.I am indepedent applicater, and my visa is H4.I have not work since and before I apply for adjustment status ( because of H4). Do you think my adjustment will be success or I will meet some problem?
My original application is based on medical research. Should I will meet some problem If I go to work using my EAD at medical clinical area ? Although EB2-NIW is not employnment based.
 
If EB2-NIW is not employment based...

then you can do whatever you want with your EAD. I am assuming that you are the derivative of a family based application or employent based application.
 
I am indepedent applicater

After passing EB2-NIW, I go back to my home country for a few years.I come back to US and hold a H4 visa.
