Unemployment benefits and citizenship application?

My friend lost his job and is thinking about applying for unemployment benefits. He only worries that this might have some negative effects on his naturalization application.

Can some share light on this issue?
 
No negative effects at all. Unemployment benefits are paid out of an insurance fund and both employer and employee make mandatory contributions to this fund.

No, it won't affect on naturalization application, only just green card application.

Tell your friend to go ahead to apply and relax. :)
 
Agree with above posts. No negative effect to us citizen application at all. Briefly, anything legal you did, has no negative impact.
