Unbelievable!

:mad:So, the Vermont Service Center has not moved from processing receipts from July 29th for I-130 applications for a whole week. I find this astounding. It is so frustrating after waiting two years to become a citizen. I get stuck at the next level. I this why i became a citizen of the United States? Now how long is it going to take to process th I-130 for my husband. I can see that it's going to be anotehr two years before he is here. The stupidity and dissorganization of this department astonishes me everytime. Their lack of expedience and delegation of tasks in an efficient way bothers me and they fail to realize how they are affecting people's lives. They hiked the fees by doubling them supposedly to make the process faster but they did so without making a difference, infact, they made the situation worse much worse. Amazing.

same here.. i'm living apart from my wife for 2years now and now my citizenship is taking longer and this I-130 is in mess

I'm still waiting for my citizenship which is more than 8 months even though all my background checks are cleared. I applied for I-130 in sept first week expecting citizenship in oct and then apply for K3.

But havent received my citizenship yet and even I-130 receipt yet. Its amazing the I-485 july fiasco was given preference and thats the reason all this delays have resulted.

USCIS needs a major overhaul. They need to come up with better ways to handle these applications. Then contractors are cutting wages for those who sort through applications. Why on earth would they do this now? Right after they double fees.

Hang in there guys, we all know USCIS sucks, but we have to remain sane throughout the process. I must be just so burnt out that I am just numb and over it. My husband is also waiting to come join us. We have been apart 3 years 4 months. I had one N400 denied which took 2 1/2 years to resolve and I couldn't leave the country the whole time because USCIS made me think I was waiting for my Oath letter the whole time! Then came the denial and I had to re-apply immediately. So here I am with you all... Waiting, frustrated, and sick of USCIS.

It sucks. Waiting all these years and still not a single good thing. I don't know when they are going to start and think how they make someone's life so miserable.
My wife called me and asked if I got FP? it is 11:30 at night right now over there and she has to make her night and everyday life so horrible because whole bunch of irresponsible people can not organize themselves.

What is puzziling and makes me pissed off is these politicians want to be fair and want to legalize 12 million illegal people here. The word they use is being "FAIR". First they have to fix/modernize broken immigration agency USCIS which could not handle 2 million applications and think about flooding with 12 million applications.

immigration is big scam/joke here and also quite puzziling that uscis responds and provides answers to AILA or immigration lawyers instead of making the information available in public domaiin

I agree with you. We are here legally, following the rules and we have to wait in line for years. People are here illegally and yet, they want to be given special treatment. I am not sure about this but i believe that people here on some work visa's are allowed to brign their spouses very quickly, while we citizens have to wait months.

Mostly it seems to be the fault of the fee hikes which caused the large "unforseen" increase in applications. Prior to June, VSC was processing I-130s very quickly indeed - my mom's was done in just 3 weeks. These days, who knows how long it'll take.

You could have still traveled, even if they had you incorrectly thinking that your oath was just around the corner.

True in the sense that they were not holding me hostage, but it is difficult to spend thousands of dollars on flights, travel with a young child, take off work when we only have one income because of this mess, and not know if I will have to be back in a week or a month. I just thought after oath I can go and be free of USCIS for a while, it was worth waiting for, but it never came.

I am not one to complain too much and I take responsibility for not applying sooner, getting pregnant before my husband was here, etc. I just wish that USCIS was a little more concerned with families being united. I especially feel for children that are left without one parent or both in some cases, they are the ones that suffer the most. My daughter is only 2 1/2 so she has not been impacted to much...

Anyway, on the brighter side I am currently making arrangement to go there for the holidays, and my husband and baby can finally meet:p

Happy for you and them. Wish you good luck.Little more left. I hope we all can unite with our families soon.

I feel for you. My daughter met her father for the first time in June. She turned 2 in September. I wanted my citizenship resolved before i traveled home but gave up and just went home. Ofcourse, we were not married yet, so we got married thinking we would just file the I-130 as resident. It just so happened that i got tired and I was about to sue. I wrote everyone i coudl think of, even Nancy Pelosi. I do not know if an of it helped but i was happy my citizenship came through.

what uscis / policy makers dos not understand is how they affecting people lives. I know many people applied to vote in elections but we are asking for fundamental familly unification and voting is luxury for us. Also i was so deeply frustrated with preference given to 485/EAD applications in july/august and now I-130 receipting is on back burner. VSC still hasnt touched I-130 since july 29th

Again, the best way (or perhaps the only way) to make this bureaucratic agency of US govt. to do at least something about all this mess is to contineously staying offensive/proactive. Meaning, contacting media about it on a daily basis across the country.

A commulative voice DOES make a difference....

you talked about the media, how do you that?
Call NY times and tell them your story?
Could give us some examples?

Thank you

I wrote to Sheila Jackson Lee who is on the committee which deals with citizenship and immigration, then I wrote to the ombudsman, then I wrote to John Conyers, also on the Judiciary Committee which deals with this stuff (head of the Dept I think). I also wrote to Larry King Live (TV) asking them to do a segment about the plight of legal immigrants seeking citizenship.

I don't know whether any of that made any difference to anything, but it made me feel better!

Thanks, they will make a difference since as they get so many of the same issue, they will raise this question that wheather or not this is working in the system and the find out about the truth.

Thank you for sharing your experience
