Hi,

As I am getting ready to file for my parents, I see that my mom is not able to sign any papers because of medical disability.

What should be done in this case? Any guidance.

Thanks

I guess it depends on what form is being filled. I know on some of the forms they have a section that asked if someone other than the intended individual filled the form. Can you be more specific as to what forms you are talking about? But I am pretty sure there are alternate sections on the end of the forms to asked if someone else filled it.

Sorry, I should have mentioned before what I am filing.

I am filing for their GC while they are here in US.

Here are the forms that I am looking to file.

1. I-130
2. I-485
3. I-693
4. G-325A
5. I-864
6. I 131

She has arthritis and is wheel chair bound.

She has also recently diagnosed with breast lump. She has got restricted medi-cal but we were told that it will not impact her GC.

What are the health/public charge requirements? Can you point me to the right direction?

and your mother simply cannot hold a pen in one hand (or two hands) and just sign the form on a dotted line???????

Some people manage to write holding a pen with their mouth or toes...

Sorry to hear about her conditions, but it just seems a bit weird that she cannot sign a form because of arthritis, a wheelchair and a breast lump.

As for the public charge - don't worry about it, you are signing an affidavit of support for the rest of her life, promising to support her at 125% of poverty line and to repay federal government benefits she may get (there are restrictions, read the affidavit).
