Guys - here is my situation. My I-485 is pending; filed it on July 2007.

Question 1: I heard that USCIS is starting to process I-485 cases, which were filed in July 2007. So, if even my PD is Sept, 2004 - does it mean that USCIS will not look into my case till the PD is current - or will look into it but won't approve it? How will it work?

Question 2: I recently got married. My wife is GC Holder, and shewill be eligible to file for Citizenship in Jan 2009. Can I file as a dependant? What will happen to my old filed I-485 process?

Any information is appreciated.

Question 1: I heard that USCIS is starting to process I-485 cases, which were filed in July 2007. So, if even my PD is Sept, 2004 - does it mean that USCIS will not look into my case till the PD is current - or will look into it but won't approve it? How will it work? No one know. The only fact is that the case will not be approved without current PD. But, if a problem, new event .......etc which may lead to denial of application, the USCIS may send RFE or even denial very early in the road. Again, if your FP for example is expired the USCIS may send another FP notice without PD and so on. Applying for I-485 for those without PD will not automatically secure many years with EAD, AP, H renewal if there is a problem in their application.

Question 2: I recently got married. My wife is GC Holder, and shewill be eligible to file for Citizenship in Jan 2009. Can I file as a dependant? What will happen to my old filed I-485 process? Adjustment of status based on family, employment or whatever will not drag the PD to be current, it just give you an extra application in case your first one may get denied and many others out there has more than one application.
Any information is appreciated.
