Trying to get GC but NSEERS holding me back

What I said is that "I think..." not that is like that.

Saying that, sometimes between agencies are broken links or probably some people do not follow the procedure that should be for this kind of cases. I really don't have an accurate answer for that...is like USCIS and the SSA, once the USCIS send you your EAD, for SSA the thing is not over they must check and for USCIS you are done with them, but you really don't get your SSN because SSA tells you something different?
For me that is the issue here, for USCIS you must send them the WHY, for ICE there is nothing to do further...so there is the broken link.

Do the affidavit, get that document done as soon as possible.
Good luck, keep us posted your case can help others.

question

wasn't the whole NSEERS started on January of 2003?

my wife and I wrote the letter to USCIS, hopefully they would point us the right direction. if they do... I will definately want to spread the news.

we didn't really do the affidavit, not sure what we can do with that or how to approach it but we just wrote a letter.

Got it

So I finally got my GC, YAY

WAITING is the difficult part but its worth the wait.

I asked help from my local congressman and they help me so much that i can't thank them enough. make sure that you ask help from the right congressman, some congressman don't support immigration people like us.

After that, I received a letter from USCIS saying that I needed to register NSEERS and my file from USCIS will transfer to ICE. ICE will register you for NSEERS. Don't forget to make appointment to ICE saying that you need to register NSEERS but you'll have to wait until your file from USCIS transfered. the only question ICE asked me was, "Why I didn't register?" so I just answered them. the registration only took about 45 minutes.

again WAITING is the tough part but nothing to worry just enjoy the time you have. God Bless

Pending for NSEERS

I am here since 1995, graduated in 2000. I am married but at this time my wife only had GC. We waited until she received her Citzenship then we filed. Didn't know anything about NSEERS until I received an RFE from USCIS regarding NSEERS. Replied with a letter stating that I didn't know. Now received a NOID (notice of intent to Deny) which scheduled an appointment in the local ICE, in the NOID it mentioned possible late registration if I provided proof of why I failed to register, how can I proof that I didn't know??? The appointment is in 2 days, I am very worried, but your experience gave me some hope. If there is anything you can advice me with during the interview it will be very appreciated.

Thanks

No worries

No need to worry.

Read your letter again... A lot of those letters that sent to you especially the one including a letter Intent To Deny stated that "Need to determine if the applicant required to register for NSEERS" If So, "Register NSEERS."

the only time they will deport you in the letter is You didn't Register with them when they asked you NOW. THATS ALL...

Gotta read that letter again, nothing to worry about. ICE can't deport you unless if you did a serious crime in U.S. or infact any crime, because ICE will do they're own investigation on you.

hopefully this will encourage you but overall don't waste your time worrying, IT WILL WORK OUT ITSELF, just do what they've asked you to do. You're in the last Stage.

After registration, you'll need to bring proof of registration to USCIS and a few weeks you'll get your "Permanent Resident Card" aka GC

God Bless

I had my interview. They said they believe me, but they can't do Nseers any more in the office, and it must be done infront of a judge. They still took my fingerprints and picture but they said it won't be considered Nseers until the Judge decide, so they put me in deportation proceeding. This all doesn't make much sense but it seems that the Philly office is handling things differently when it comes to Nseers.
