TRV - Buffalo may have lost my passport!!

I live and work in Missisauga,ON on a work permit. I recently sent my passport to Buffalo to have the consulate re-issue a TRV for me.

I got a call from them saying that they would be sending my passport back to me, but would not be using the prepaid Fedex Envelope that I had sent in. They said that they would be sending the passport by regular mail. They also sent me an email after this to confirm. The passport was supposedly sent out to me on the 29th of Jan.

I still haven't gotten my passport in the mail and am beginning to get worried. Is there a chance that it's lost? Has anyone else been through the same thing?

Pls let me know I am extremely worried. I just wrote to Buffalo asking them for more details but haven't got a response at the time of writing.

I believe they normally send passports back only through USPS even if you include a prepaid fedex or ups envelope. I've read that in some Canadian Consulates like one in NY & L.A. Its their rule.
 
Give then postal system a few more days. If the passport doesn't make its way by then, contact Buffalo again to confirm when it was sent out.
