Hey guys,

I hear a lot about trips outside USA but never came across a case like mine, I think I am ok but I'm getting closer to my interview date so I want to make sure I don't need to worry or get additional info on this.

I have about 4 trips outside US, 2 cruises and 3 trips to the caribbean (air) all about 7 days each and all listed on my application, now because I was a Cuban green card holder I didn't need a passport to travel to the caribbean by air, I was allowed to go in and out of US with no problem on my way back I was just asked for my green card and DL. For cruises same thing they were back in 2004 and was never asked for passport either, just green card and DL. I do have a passport but it is expired (since 2000) and Im planning on taking with me to the interview, but regarding the other trips would they have any record of it? Im thinking the swipe your greencard but I can't remember if they did anything like that. Just wondering if Im ok with this issue =)

Thanks!

Mimi,

I see no problems for you. If you can't list the trip, then it is fine as long as you tell the IO that you went on other trips but have no record as your passport expired and couldn't renew...;) It is possible for you to bring your email reservation confirmation or use that to fill in the missing details?

I plan to visit Cuba one day, I don't know if I should start planning investment there in anticipation of changes in the direction of the country. :eek:I also hear there are drop dead gorgeous woman there...:( I have a gorgeous wife, but I appreciate beautiful women too...

Haha AL you are so funny! I do not have anything on the older trips I have a confirmation on my last air trip and a Royal Caribbean card haha that shows my name and sailing date etc for one of the cruises. We'll see if they ask the I will have to dig in deeper but I don't have anything else.

I can't wait until my country is free! I suggest you wait and get in the long line of people planning on buying when things change. Thankfully I have a lot of land that my grandfather owns HAHA maybe I can sell it to you! j/k! and about the gorgeous woman I can tell you is true, you might be talking to one this whole time and didnt even know it! ;)

I agree, you are fine as long as you listed the trips and just tell the truth to the IO . If you have your old reservation receipt etc then you have the exact date of your travel. I don't know whether IO will have info about your travel but their parent department ( Homeland Security) will have info of your travel as the office swipe the green card when you enter the country.

Yeah Tom that's what I was thinking I'm sure they have some kind of record when they swipe the card. =) Thanks!

No Bob! I wish haha I haven't been back to my country since the day I left more than 12 years ago. My other air trips were all to Dominican Republic for vacation.

You're fine in that case. I had traveled to Cuba (unaware it was illegal to do so under GC status) , declared it on N-400 application and was never questioned further about it.

I hope you liked it there Bob! Yeah it sucks that no everyone can enjoy going there freely. If I ever wanted to go back I would have to spend 500.00 on a new Cuban passport and about 150.00 on a visa my US citizenship is pretty much worthless for them, as long as a person is born there (after 1959 i think is the cut off) they need a Cuban passport to enter the country it doesn't mean we have dual citizenship it is all for travel purposes. Pretty stupid I think!

Yeah, I sure loved it ..some real good memories. I plan on going back again someday ..even if it means on my Canadian passport via Toronto.

I hate to bring this to you but the good looking ones have already immigrated to Miami :D

I now know why I love Miami so much...:) Do you mean the island is now barren of drop dead gorgeous people? It would be a shame if the people who are there weren't doing it to increase the population with beautiful people..
