Trip after Interview letter

For my N-400 (Citizenship) application I got my interview letter yesterday and interview is on March 31st 2009.

I am planning to go to my country between February 25th 2009 and March 6th 2009.

My questions are: -

  1. Can I still visit my country even though I have received an interview letter?

  2. Is there any such law by USCIS that says that I cannot leave US after getting interview letter?

Please reply me

Thanks

You are free to travel at any time, as long as you, after your trips, still fulfill the continuous residency and physical presence requirements for your citizenship application. You just have to inform the officer at the interview of your trips after you sent in your application.

No, you will be jailed right after the Interview is done and only released at time of oath.

What part of "of course" do you not understand?

You can travel as much as you like for as long as you maintain your residency requirements.

okay thanks for your reply. I vageuly remember that at the time of Green card interview I was told not to leave the country. So I was making sure if that holds true for N-400 application also.

What you should have been told after your Green Card interview is do not leave without first obtaining advance parole. You can travel freely during your N-400 process.
