Travelling to Canada on H1B

I am currently on H1B visa on my second extension and I have the visa stamped on my passport till mid-2011.

Also my wife has her H4 visa stamped till the same date. The only difference being for her the visa is stamped on her old passport, now she has a post-marriage passport with the new last name.

I am planning to travel to Canada towards the end of this month for around 3 days for tourism.

Question 1 -
In the current economic scenario where I have heard stories of H1b holders being unduly questioned by immigration officers during entry, will it be advisable to leave the country unless there are compelling reasons.

Question 2 -
Please suggest any additional documents or anything else that I can do to avoid any possible trouble at immigration on our way back.

If you can share any suggestions, advice or personal experiences regarding travel to canada will be very helpful.

Thanks!
