Travelling on H1-B

I will be travelling to India next month.
I have my passport stamped with H1-B of my previous emplyer but not with my present employer.
I have the approval notice(original) and copy of the LCA. The document I don't have is copy of the petition submitted by my current employer.
So my concern is that do I need that for re-entering US?
My employer is not willing to give me copy of the petition stating some confidential financial information concerns.
Please advice.

thats a grey area and be careful because at POE the stamp would be from old employer , i think you need to get it stamped in india for the new employer

------------not a problem if you have H1 visa stamp of A and you have H1 Transfer approval of B. at POE you need to show valid visa stamp of A in your passport AND H1 transfer approval notice of B and you will get I-94 till new H1 approval notice

------------you dont need anything from A you need H1 approval notice of B and valid visa stamp through A in your passport.

-------------- if you want visa stamp with B name then you need B H1 approval notice, copy of B LCA and copy of the petition that was submited to USCIS
Please advice.

i am in a similar situation , have H1b from A employer till 2009 but the visa stamped is expired from feb 2006 and i am transferring to New employer and am doing to India in may.
to be safe should i go for H1b stamping with my current employer and then go to India or just go to India and get the visa stamped for the new employer even before joining them( is it safe )
