Traveling without disrupting continous residence for naturalization

I got my green card valid for 10 yrs last March and planning to go back home to study and it will take me at least 2-3 years to finish.One of the requirement for applying for naturalization is that 3 years of continous residence,If i will travel every 6 months coming back in forth in 3 years, can I apply naturalization or do I have to apply for any kind of permit?

With this patter you will not be able to satisfy another requirement - physical presence. You need to be in the US 1.5 years out of latest 3 years.

You first need to work on maintaining your GC. Long absenses may endanger it. Once you are back, and re-settle in the US, then work on your citizenship.
