Traveling Outside the US As Asylee applicant ,Asylee,LPR through Asylum

If you don’t have a GC yet you need RTD. The approval notice states that asylees and their derivatives must requests permission to return to the US (that is RTD) or their status might be revoked. Without GC you are an Asylee derivative so must follow same laws after you obtain your GC and become a LPR you can travel with your own country passport as it has nothing to do with the main applicant country and you didn’t file for persecution.
Thanks!

Hello all, just wanted to share some info on border crossing. My husband came from Mexico the other day with his RTD and green card (by land) — no problems whatsoever. They just scanned his green card

With green card everything is easier
100% but if you have RTD and want to travel you can do that easy unless if someone has a criminal record then better not to leave the US now but otherwise anyone have RTD alone is enough to travel freely and enjoy their traveling.

Does anyone know how to make expedite request online, I went through the uscis website and couldn’t find the the option to expedite

Could you please tell how do you do with phone, how do you submit evidence?
I called the USCIS hotline (800) 375-5283 and followed these steps:

1. Navigated the automated system, saying "expedite Refugee Travel Document" and confirming Form I-131.
2. Explained my situation and waited for a live officer.
3. Spoke with an officer, who instructed me to wait for a call from Officer Tier 2.
4. Received a call from Officer Tier 2 and was told to wait a few weeks for further guidance.
5. Followed up every 15 days, and after 2 months, my request was approved without needing to submit additional documents.

This process required patience and persistence, but ultimately resulted in approval.

My spouse's RTD has been approved in 12 months.

My spouse;
-received asylum status 1/3/24
-applied RTD through asylum status 5/1/24
-applied GC 4/1/24
-received GC 1/4/25 (surprise!)
-received RTD 5/29/25

but my spouse was asylee at the time of applying RTD. but received GC before receiving RTD.

Any issues? I mean is RTD only dependent on asylee status or GC status? or it doesn't matter?

After 1 year, is my spouse going to apply for Re-entry? or something else?
