Traveling on H1B while AOS pending. Any recent changes?

I know that this topic has been covered before, but I just want to make sure that there haven't been any recent changes that I should know about. Perhaps, I'm being a little paranoid here... ;)

My AOS application is pending (interview this month) and I hold a valid (until November 2008) H1B visa. I intend to travel to Canada tomorrow and come back in a week (business trip). Is it still true that I can use my H1B for that trip without facing any adverse consequences? Does anybody know of any recent changes in the regulations that could cause me trouble?

Thanks in advance and sorry for beating a dead horse here... :o :p

I dont think there have been any changes. But make sure you carry with you all the documentation like:

1) a letter from your employers proving that you are currently employed by them and are coming back;
2) carry current pay stubs;
Have your business cards handy;
3) Current, valid passport;
4) Current, valid H-1B visa stamp in passport. NOTE: an expired visa is valid for persons reentering the US from Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean island nations (except Cuba) after a visit of fewer than 30 days.
5) Copy of the I-797 H-1B Approval Notice (original may be borrowed from OIE for visa applications only)
6) I-94 Departure card (most recent)
7) Copy of the approved Labor Condition Application and INS form I-129/Application for H-1B status
Travel letter from OIE or department (strongly recommended, but not required.) Make request to OIE one week in advance of travel by email or in person. Letter should state your name, period of current H-1B status, place and dates of intended travel, and expectation that you will return to continue your employment.

Thank y'all for your answers! Especially myredskins for such a detailed list! :)

I have most of the things you mentioned, but like TheRealCanadian pointed out, they rarely want all that stuff, I think. The last time I was entering the US, I only needed my visa stamp and the I-797.

I'm sure glad to hear that everything should be fine. Otherwise, my boss would've been quite pissed, having already paid for my ticket, lodging, etc. ;)

Thanks again! I'll be back in a week...
