My wife is traveling on AP and the expiration date is end of May. She supposed to be back by beginning of May.
Last week i received a renewed AP for her. Could she enter the country using her old AP? Should I send her the renewal AP to use it when she enters the country?

Not only can she reenter on her old AP, but she must do so. The new AP can then be used for future trips.

* she can enter using old AP before expiry date
OR
can use new AP if that AP was applied while she was IN US and it was approved BEFORE she went out of US.

The AP was applied when she was in US and got approved while she is in outside of the US.
My lawyer suggested me to send her new AP and use it when she enters. The lawyer said it is always a best idea to use updated one.

In that case, you might want to get your lawyer to look at the USCIS memo here http://www.murthy.com/news/n_favint.html, and then fire him.
