Hello All,

Please clarify.. my in-laws have 10 year B2 visa and which is expiring in March 2012.
They are planning to visit US this month (Dec 2011) and stay here for 6 months.

Can they come with the existing visa and still be permitted to stay in US for 6 months?
will they face any issue in POE as they have only 4 months left on the visa validity?
If they are going to get only 4 months (I-94), should they apply for new B2 visa?

Please help, ( last time they traveled to US was 5 years back and never overstayed).

Thanks

The visa must be valid at time of entry. Their passport expiration dates must be far enough into the future to allow for the desired stay. The expiration date on I-94 issued at entry is not controlled by the visa expiry date, but is influenced by the passport expiry date.
