Travel to Poland - visa needed?

For inforamtion accuracy purpose, you should may be check with the Poland Consulate, (google it) because Poland 3 or 4 years ago was going through the process of being part of Schengen, if Poland is not already part of it.

Best Luck.

Poland is now a Schengen country, but you'll have to contact the embassy of consulate to see whether they need a visa for RP or RTD holders.

Poland is now part of the schengen countries. I just not sure whether it accepts RP and whether visa is required to travel there.

Thanks for responding to my posting. Since many of the members on this forum are very knowledgeable, I figured I ask this question. Anyway, I will contact the consulate on Monday.

Visa

It seems to me you will need avisa for Poland. Very few countries in Europe don't require visas for RTD holders an even less countries for Reentry permits. For RTD holder no visa for Germany,Slovenia(GC),slovakia(GC),Croatia(GC) and Hungary didnt use to require it with GC but now I think they do since they joined the EU. Best of luck in your trip...

I contacted the Consulate of Poland few minutes ago; I have been told that the visa processing time is one month for those who travel on a RP. Anyone is planning to travel to Poland should plan accordingly or at least check with the consulate again.

I think I will modify my travel plan so that I can apply visa from other schengen countries.

Well, just remember that it'll have to be for a country other than Germany. I asked the German consulate in San Francisco if they could just issue me a visa because I wanted to go to the Netherlands as well, but they said no. I would have preferred a German Schengen because the Dutch consulate takes SO LONG with my RTD. I don't know why, but I think it's because I don't have a job (I'm a student).

I contacted the Consulate Nethelands early this morning, I have been told that the visa processing time will take two weeks. It applies both RP and RTD holders. I applied for a schengen visa from the Consulate of Netherlands few years ago while I was still travelled on RTDs, it took me two weeks to get my visa. It means the processing time has not changed since 2004.

The Dutch are extremely friendly and prompt. I applied for a Dutch visa less than a month ago and received my visa in under a week! The Italians are rude and unhelpful. The Germans won't give you a visa on a RTD but you will need one with a RP.

At this time, holders of US travel documents issued as refugee travel documents do not require a visa to travel to Germany for tourism, transit or business. Please note that this only encompasses Germany, as other countries of the Schengen agreement may require you to hold a visa. This may be subject to change, therefore check for changes on this website before each trip. As this exception may not be known to some airlines or immigration officers, we suggest you print this information and take it with you. The printout quotes the address of this website and the date, enabling you and others to verify the information and to check if the printout is up to date. Holders of US travel documents issued as Permit to Reenter need a visa according to their nationality (please check visa aplication - visa requirements)
