Travel to India, Effect on 485/140

--- You dont have any problem as you have valid H1 visa to come back, you dont need AP as your H1 visa is valid when you want to come back, show passport H1 Visa stamp at POE and enter

In that case your H1 is invalid and you are kinda hosed.
If you even have a remote chance of getting an approval, it would be very very advisable to get an AP before you travel. You don't have to use it if your 485 is still pending - you can just use your H1 to re-enter
