Hi, looking for some advice regarding my naturalization!
In brief:
My naturalization interview is morning August 1st, 2016. Then August 2nd I already have booked a plane ticket to Europe for a week. It is a medium-important trip for a family reunion. Can I work it out to be able to go?
In long:
Today, I learned my interview is August 1st. I had booked the plane ticket many months in advance and I did not expect the interview to come at this exact date. I don't know if my field office (Reno, Nevada) is doing the same day ceremonies or not, but even if they do I would not be able to get US passport in 24 hours right?
If they don't do the same day oath ceremony maybe I can still travel on my US green card for that trip right after the interview?
Anyways, is there a way to find out if my field office is doing same day ceremonies or what date(s) are the actual ceremonies?
Another option I was thinking about was to reschedule the interview for an earlier or later date, but I wonder how cumbersome is that going to be.
Last option is to entirely cancel my trip if none of these are viable options. I hate the US government is so unpredictable, anyone has any insight, idea?
