Travel Restriction after N400 interview

We had N400 interview done, now we are waiting for oath date. We are planning short duration travel outside the US on GC. I have heard some stories about how USCIS can ask to restart N400 from scratch again or ask to redo finger prints. Does anyone know any information about this?

Thanks in advance to all who help confused people like me on this forum.

You can travel outside of US on your Green card while your oath is still pending. There is no restriction. Having to redo FP and start this N-400 process from scratch doesn't make any sense to me. You will be fine as long as you don't miss your oath date. Please make sure to hold on to your travel itinerary/airline tkts as a proof that you had left the country.

Sounds like a tall tale to me. The only possible scenario is where an applicant's physical presence count is just on the edge and the holiday after the N-400 interview, tilts the balance the wrong way. Even in that case, the oath will be denied, but there will not be a redo of the finger prints.

Basically the post-interview travel "restrictions" are identical to those prior to the interview. Maintain continuous residence, make sure you have sufficient physical presence, and turn up when scheduled for the oath ceremony.
