Hope somebody here has the answers I need. I am a Canadian citizen, and a U.S. Permanent Resident. I had my Naturalization interview in late September, and received my oath ceremony letter today!

The problem is, my ceremony is this coming Friday (November 5), and I have had travel plans for several months now to return to Canada the following weekend (November 12) for a wedding.

Obviously, I won't be able to get a new U.S. Passport in that short time. With my Green Card being surrendered at the Oath Ceremony, how am I supposed to travel? Is my still valid Canadian Passport, plus Naturalization Certificate enough to cross back to the United States?

Any and all feedback would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.
 
If a person is a US Citizen, he/she is required to enter on a US passport, make a appointment in a Passport agency and they will provide you with a US passport the same day.

Nov. 5th to Nov. 12th, there is still about a week. You have way more than enough time to get a same day passport. One has to use US PP to leave/enter US if one is USC.

Personally, I strongly recommend not to postpone your oath.
 
Yes, I should have been clearer. 1 week is enough time to get a passport through passport office. However, IF going to passport office is not feasible, then the other option is to delay the oath. Since NAME had mentioned it already, I added this other option.
 
Will you be using a land or air POE? Land POE officers might be a tad more lenient. However 1 week is more than enough to get a US passport issued.

Where are you located? I know in New York if you pay extra money you can get your passport the same day showing your flight ticket!
