Travel on B2 Visa - Husband is on H1B

Hi,

I Have a B1/B2 Visa. I got it stamped when I had to visit for business from my company and have travelled on B1 3 months back.

My husband is in US on H1-B visa. Can I staright away book ticket and use my B2 visa for visiting my Husband. Or I need to get some documents along to show at immegration counter at the Port of Entry.

I am emplyed in Delhi and want to visit him for 3 weeks.

Hi,
Your husband is on a "dual-intent" visa. You can safely visit him on a B-1/2. At the POE the only issue I can see is if the officer questions your purpose of visit. The officer may further question about why you are not requesting entry under H-4 classification. Not a big deal, you can counter that by letting the officer know that you live and work in India.
