Travel Date missed in Naturalization interview

I recently attended my naturalization interview and wanted to see if anyone has experienced something similar.

During the interview, I realized that I had missed mentioning one of my travel dates because it completely slipped my mind. However, the officer checked and verified the travel by reviewing the entry and exit stamps in my passport.

I also requested a name change during my application, and the officer mentioned that taking the oath in court for name changes currently has about a 3-month backlog.

At the end of the interview, she said that she still needs to review a few more things before proceeding with the decision.

Has anyone had a similar experience?
  • Is it normal for the officer to say they need additional review even after verifying travel history?
  • Could the missed travel date cause any issues?
  • Does requesting a name change usually delay the oath ceremony because it has to be done in court?
I would appreciate hearing about others’ experiences. Thank you!
