I applied for citizenship recently and have completed the FB stage so far.
My interview date has been scheduled for end of July. I need to travel to India now for 3 and 1/2 weeks or so but will be back before my scheduled interview date.
I have the following questions:
a) Is it okay to make a short trip out of US after FB but before the interview date ?
b) At the time of submitting my application It had a total of 167 days absence during the last 5 years. These were mostly once-a-year trips back to India that lasted on average about 3-4 weeks. The total # of days is under 180 and no single trip lasted more than 5-6 weeks tops.
If I travel again now will I be adding to the # of days ? and what if the total goes over 180 ? I have been living the the US for 10 years now continuously and have home/mortgage and tax information for the past 5 years. Should I be concerned about traveling before the interview date and the 180 number ?
