Travel after AC21, before GreenCard

Hi guys,

Let us share soem information on travelling after AC21 and before GreenCard... anyone in this situation and travelled, please post your experiences. along the following lines:

1. what docs were asked at the port of entry?
2. what port of entry?
3. which country for stopover, was transit Visa reqd?
4. when did you travel?

other than this, any expert opinion on what would happen if pending 485 got approved before one comes back ?

is it risky and not advisable to travel with AP after AC21 ?

Just my H-1 approval notice. My wife entered on her H-4 I-94 alone.

what port of entry?

Toronto PFI, and Atlanta Hartsfield POE (from Europe).

which country for stopover, was transit Visa reqd?

No stopovers. No visas required.

when did you travel?

September 2001 through April 2003.

You'd get paroled into the US with your AP, or deferred inspection.

Thanks for the reply.. it looks like I am the only guy travelling after AC21.
I do not have a H1 as I used AC21 and did not file for H1 (i should have filed?)

Currently, all i have is a H1 from my prev employer valid at the time of return to US and not my current employer..

So should i show my seemingly valid H1 at POE or my EAD and AP ?

Since you have joined the new company using your EAD you should use advance parole at POE.
