I just read the online status. It reads

"On August 6, 2003, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to our office in ATLANTA, GA for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. Our office in ATLANTA, GA will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case. If you need further information, please call the NCSC at (800) 375-5283"

Cd any one tell :

1. What are the potential reasons that cases get transferred? I had responded to the RFE by sending Employment Confirmation letter and Salary Stubs last week. And now see this transfer.
2. How much time does Atlanta Office take to process transfer cases?
3. I had not petitioned for Advance Parole blving that the case will be approved by this time. It hasn't. can I go ahead and seek advance parole for me & my family's travel between Nov & January?

PD 12/31/01
ND 01/17/02
FP 01/17/02
RFE 07/14/03
RFE Response 07/28/03
Case Transfer 08/06/03

Is this an AC21 case? I had a similar RFE and got transferred 2 months after responding.

You don't want to know. :( I have been waiting since late October. I am an August 2001 case. Get ready to wait, and wait and wait. You (heck, we) are doomed.

You have a problem. If the case is transferred then you cannot file AP at VSC, since the file is no longer there. Wait until you receive the transfer notice, then file your I-131 via mail to the Atlanta office. It will be around 60 days.

Hope this helps, and sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Sorry to hear

about transfer...........
if it is AC21 case the officer in your case might have mis-interpreted it

You - Is this an AC21 case? I had a similar RFE and got transferred 2 months after responding.

I- Yes. I changed my job after 180 days of 485 ND. Why does it help?

You- if it is AC21 case the officer in your case might have mis-interpreted it.

I- Refer above. I changed my job after 180 days of 485 ND. And my lawyer had assured me that once I send him the documents required stated in RFE, he will add necessary forms, applications and send them across to BCIS. He knew about the change of job and had drafted an Employment Confirmation Letter (which was signed by my HR and sent). Though, I have not seen the form AC21 or signed anything yet.

Question

My new employer is based out of Boston. And I am also based 5 days a week out from there. Wonder what kind of processing time Boston BCIS has in place. Wd it help if request my lawyer to pursue BCIS to transfer my case to Boston, instead of Atlanta?
