I-140/I-485/EAD

I have a question:

When I apply for I-140/I-485/EAD, would I get my EAD before my I-140 gets approved?

Or would it get approved only after my I-140 gets approved?

I am not sure! Input are welcome... :confused:

As per BCIS online status I-140 approved on 7/17 and my wife EAD approved today 7/21

My details:
EB3, Concurrent
140/485/EAD/AP were RD 3/19/03 ND 3/21/03
FP to be done in 8/8/03
I-140 Rec# lin031345xxxx
No RFE

I had a problem earlier the status would not show up online.
For I-140 the first message shown was today and it was the approval message.
