To Mr. Bentlebee.......

Is this a lottery or is an avenue created for the us government to make money from the poor because i understand this is meant for them? i am saying this because i met about about four hundred peoples on the 1st October 2009 at the US embassy Accra whom after interviews were only told they are placed under further review and they shall be call when they finish with their review, that processing never finish before the deadline and it was after the deadline before they started calling people for their documents with a letter that their administrative processing did not finish before the deadline.I have paid fees including processing fees, is the embassy not mandated to process my case before the deadline or they choses to do whatever they like after they see that you paid them and that the law can not touch them God save us. i saw peoples with authentic documents but they were refused in the name of administration processing which never finished.Any way i have been called to came to the embassy on the 15th October i don,t know what for may be for my documents .

pls ak27 ans this my broda n stop attacking me. bcos a friend of mind has been refuse just an hour ago with know tangible reason[pls we could nt finish the underground check b4 sept 30th] if u no u could not, how could YOU.........! may God save us from this people.

interpret that word for me/us please !!

Lol, i dont exactly know, but the context makes me think that it could mean something like "some type of a mysterious, mischevous arrangement/conspiracy". We probably need to ask that on the Ghana forum or something. African people have so many of those interjections that they use (among themselves to describe every day life situations; just never thought it would make it to an international immigration forum such as this one where most people don't have a clue about african english and/or its slang) They are derived from our languages and are often said with a dramatic facial expression (not funny for the person sayin it of course) along with fingers-snapping type non-verbal/body language accompaniments. The reason I was laughing was because I was trying to imagine the original poster's face saying that (and all the body language that goes with it); I don't know if it makes sense; probably only african people (or people who have had frequent casual exposure to african cultures and daily ways of living) can relate to that. But anyways, sorry for the off-topic. Back to the subject.

Well, I can understand your frustration bro!, we do feel for you. But do not give up, just get over with it and continue with your life. Yes, this may be one of those wired games where winners are NOT really winners!! But the thing is all the house rules were given out clearly at the beginning of it, basically saying, "yes it is a weird lottery.....so play if you will, at your own risk and we give no guarantees"!! . Also the 'priority number' method too is a tool for one to understand and prepare for the odds of being a real winner.

I hope those of you who are playing this game in the future take note of these facts, especially those of you from countries that get higher number of initial "winners".

Good Luck!

I wasn't attacking you, I was just trying to explain things to you. They gave your friend the reason for denying the visa, they didn't finish his case before the September 30th deadline. It's harsh I know, but they are the rules.

From the embassy's point of view, each case is different, so they have no way of knowing beforehand if they'll get everyone's case processed on time. You just have to make sure you have all your documents in order and you can persuade the officials you meet the requirements so they can process your case quickly and give you the visa.

good for you

did you see my signature ? what do you think about my sister ? i see lot of pple asking you

Hello fitness901,

Your sister really needs to talk to a lawyer and analyze her chances. Every case is different.

Good luck!

Thank you I2009 for your respond ,i know every case is different ,she hire a lawyer but i just wonder if some body has same case like hers ,share some point ,it is little complicated for any body ,even for her lawyer how to win the case.

Thanks

If I were you I would get the best lawyer you can get and ask if they can do anything and if not than don't waste any money....deportation is almost impossible to win the DV GC, but I have stated before one lawyer I know kept one very famous (one of the most famous artist ever) from being deportated due to a conviction he had....the case took 4 years though and this famous person had all the money to pay for his defense....

With the DV lottery you don't have 4 years though...the winner needs to have the GC before Sept. 30th or before they run out of GC, whatever comes first.....so IMO it will be very hard, but I'm not a lawyer and she definately needs one, but again it will cost money and lawyers work either by a flat fee per case or by the hour and I guess in a case like your sister it might be by the hour. One other lawyer I know is charging $ 1,750.- per DV case, but that amount is for a person he knows has all their papers correct, so in your sisters case it could be different.
Good Luck!:)
