TN2 Centificate of Insurance

Hello - An American company ask me to work for them as an IT Contractor (TN2) for a year. Besides a Statement of Work, they ask me for a Certificate of Insurance. Could you please tell me what is the reason of this Certificate? Why do they need it? How can get it? I will appreciate your responses.
 
This is for professional liability. They require that you protect yourself (and thus them) from lawsuits for damages for any poor/ improper work that you might do.

Most professional contractors need to carry such insuarnce (and are best advised to do so). You should too.

It is not a TN issue, it is a contractor issue.
