TN visa regular visits

I got a TN last July and have been in the US ever since. My TN expires on July 2021. Could I just stay in the us until the day before my TN expires and get it renewed or should I be regularly visiting Canada? I live pretty far from the border so it would be a huge hassle.

update: i called the uscbp and they said that they determine ties to country by family, bank accounts, etc in canada.

TN absolutely does NOT require any ties. You only need to go to border on the day you renew, or do it by mail.
