TN visa joining

Hi,

I got TN visa about a month ago and client is delaying joining.
I am already in USA and rented a place and waiting.

In case i get another offer, what should i tell the immigration about the current TN?
I am planning to inform my client for my Current TN that i am leaving(once i have another offer) and in immigration i should tell that i left because of better opportunity. will that work?

Yep...you are allowed to have multiple TNs. If the officer asks, you can tell that there is a better opportunity that you are planning on pursuing (this assumes that your application is solid for the second TN).

Btw do *not* give notice to your current employer until you have procured a new (second) TN.

Good luck

Thanks.
So legally speaking i can still stay in USA. As my current client has not yet said no to joining ?

Its a slightly gray area. There is no doubt that your TN is still "viable", in the sense that your client has not officially fired you, and you have not resigned. You can certainly use it to work with the client legally. But if you were using this TN to enter the US, the officer would seriously question its validity, given that you have not even started with the client after so long a period. If this were an H1-B job, you would definitely be out-of-status and H1-B invalid for failure (of both the employer and employee) to meet the terms of your LCA. But that is in the H1 world, not TN.

At this point you either need to start working for this client, finding a more legitimate sponsor, or leaving US.
