Hey All,

I am currently here from Canada on a TN visa which expires May 27th, 2008. On November 30th, 2007 I married my wife who is a USC. I now have a copy of my marriage certificate and am ready to adjust my status.

I am looking to adjust my status to permanent resident and eventually citizen since I know that my TN cannot be renewed now that I am married to a USC.

I am wondering how I go about doing this and whether or not it requires a lawyer. I renewed my TN mutliple times without ever using a lawyer.

I appreciate everyone's time and help.

You should be fine. You should put together an I-130, I-485, G-325, I-765, I-693, I-864 and I-131. If you have renewed the TN without a lawyer this should be relatively straightforward - but feel free to ask here if you have any questions.

You still have an OK bit of time left on the TN before it expires, but your really should get your package to USCIS within the next 21 days.
