TN Visa Holder investing

Hello,

I am a Canadian on a TN Visa working as an accountant in the US for a company that runs and operates gas stations. I have been given an opportunity to invest within my company on future purchase of gas stations, but I will not be involved in the operations.

This will just be an investment, where I will take a % of the profits (from the new gas stations), and at the same time continue working as an accountant with my TN for the company.

Can I do this? Or am I required to obtain a different visa?

Thanks.

This is considered passive investing, and is no problem. The fact that you work for the firm you are investing in is not an issue either.
