TN to GC (China born)

hello everyone,

i noticed many of the experts in this forum to discuss how TN to GC. I need your specific insights for my case - a China Born Canadian (single mom).

Here is my situation:
TN will expire on July, 2020. My company starts collecting all my documents in order to fill the PERM LC for me.

I have lot of questions in mind and hope to get helps from here.

1) I had master degree & Certified Public Accountant for my current job. Does it make me qualify EB2 or EB3? Does TN need switch to one of the EMPLOYMENT-BASED PREFERENCE CASES?
i saw there were 2 dates from visa bulletin (filling dates & priority date - i attached them both), but i don't know how to connect them to my case.

2) if i don't have luck to win H1B lottery, shall i still renew TN visa after I-140 get approved (no I-485 filling)?

3) Can i wait till 5 months before TN expire to fill I-485? just to avoid immigration intention for renew TN and get 1-485 proceed in the same time.

What's the best strategy to plan my TN to GC?

Appreciated for all the inputs!!!

There is a thread on TN to GC which answers all these questions regardless of country of origin.

look for curiousgeorge.

For questions on which EB class you can/should apply for, there is the I-485 forum.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but if you are a Canadian citizen I don't think country of birth matters for the purpose of TN?

Grant2, for GC it DOES matter your country of birth as they have country specific yearly quotas,,thats what visa bulletin is for---showing which dates they are processing

Grant, our poster is wondering about the TN to GC process, which can be lengthened by birth country. But the process is the same, as I said earlier.
