TN renewal

Greetings guys

I am on a valid TN status and it expires Jan 2017, I am planning on applying for a renewal at the POE next month before any laws change, my question is, will the current one be canceled in case of the new request being denied for any lack of documents?

Unless there is a change in your employment, you cannot renew a TN at the border much more than 2-3 weeks beforehand.
What "laws" are you thinking are going to change?

Hi Nelsona, I did not know that.
Changes such as no more NAFTAs for these countries, etc.....do You think it may happen?

nelsona , I presume that OP is referring to the possibility of a new president taking office who is proposing to make radical changes to the US relationship with at least one NAFTA country. I'd agree with nelsona that you likely can't do this more than 2-3 weeks in advance. 2 weeks in advance should be fine, though, so given that the new president (whoever it turns out to be) won't take office until Jan 20, 2017, it should be possible to renew just before the new president takes office if that is indeed OP's concern.

Good morning CalGreenCard, yes You are right actually, I was also referring to the same thing, so do you think applying 3 months in advance with the mail to the immigration office is a good option?

You can apply by mail 6 months ahead.
And yes, cal, I was quite aware of what he was implying, I wanted to hear it... from him.

Thank you nelsona, is there any specific issue I should be aware of before or while renewing?
