Hey all,

I recently completed my undergraduate university studies in an Ontario university business program and have received a management consulting job offer from a firm in Boston.

Now I know that usually they require a copy of your diploma/degree, but I have not yet convocated (convocation is the ceremony where you receive your actual degree)...

I've received a letter from my university indicating that I've successfully completed my degree requirements, and also have transcripts showing my completion.

Along with a letter from my employer, will the letter + transcripts be sufficient in order to obtain TN status under the Management Consultant category?

Also any suggested port of entrys for my situation, and any immigration consultants that you can advise who can help me?

The job is exactly what I want and don't want to miss out on the opportunity because I haven't obtained my degree yet from the university

Thanks in advance!!!

They might accept this in lieu of a degree, but they are under no obligation to. If you run into a stickler of a CBP officer that demands a degree, then you will be denied.

Could you suggest a port of entry that might be easier than others? I was thinking of going to the Toronto pearson airport one ...

I really hope it works :(

i got denied there twice in two days as of today. i would not go to that POE, i heard the lady say she denied every request today.

btw, try to avoid the blond lady and the spanish one--they both did not udnerstand my tn request and hence i was denied.

wow, thanks for the heads up! I've heard Fort Erie? is a good place to go...

has anyone considered the immigration consultant option? some company called Global Transit offered to take me there and help me get the TN for $500... but they're in Montreal and I would have to go over there and then go with them on their bus or whatever..

I just want the peace of mind, I don't think not having the actual degree yet in my hands should be a problem :(

They have a Free Trade Specialist there, so probably.

You might not think so, but the NAFTA regulations clearly state that a degree is required, and by the letter of the law the CBP officer can deny you because no degree has been conferred yet.
