Hi,

I am a PT in Canada. I am applying in Minnesota but they require non US PT to do a 6 month traineeship before they grant a license. I am confused because the USCIS site states that US licensure is post entry requirement. Does this mean that I can do my traineeship in TN status????If not what kind of visa can I avail to do my traineeship? Thanks for the help guys.

I'm pretty sure that having a provincial license is the entry requirement for TN. You can't be expected to get a license from a jurisdiction before getting there.
Will your sponsor be willing to have you do the traineeship?

You might want to join

They may have a physio that moved there who went thru this.

Hi nelsona, the minnesota board requires me to do the internship in a hospital facility and im hoping to work in a private clinic, but i dont think there is a problem looking for an employer who is willing to wait for me for 6 months while I do the traineeship. Thank you for your help.

Well, you will still need an immigration status for the internship. So the hospital will have to sponsor you, likely as a J1.
