Time off work for Citizenship process

Hi

I has a look around the forum but couldn't find anything related to this (I wasn't able to find a search option?).

Anyway my question relates to time off work for the fingerprint, Interview & Oath. Does this have to be taken out of regular vacation/personal time? Or do employers have to give you time off in addition to your regular vacation/personal time for immigration related events?

It totally depends upon your company. I think in most cases, the citizenship is
a pure private matter of employees so that you have to use personal vacation
for that. I once say some government jobs have requirements saying the
candidates must be a citizen or must be eligible for citizenshiop in 5 years.
In that case, you can persusade the boss the your citizenship is the company's issue.

This is completely upto your employer/supervisor. But unless your job specifically requires U.S. citizenship, you would be hard-pressed to prove to your employer that time taken off to go through the naturalization process should be at the employer's cost.

I have seen stories on the green card forum about employers going the extra mile for their employees who are in the green card process, but not so much for naturalization.
