May be you guys already know, but you can mail a form G-731 ( Inquiry about status of Alien Registration card) , if 30 days have passed and haven't received card.
I have done so and is waiting for the reply.
One officer even recommended that we can go to the local office and get temporary document as proof until we receive the actual card( Not sure about this though??)

Thanks. I will do G-731.

As I was told, you can make your temp GC in local office. If I can't get GC in 30 days, I will try to get temp GC.
 
Still waiting for GC after approval

I called the 800 number last week and was told that it might take another 30-60 days :mad: :mad: :mad: :confused: .

I got reply of query on my case and it says my Bio info is missing. Weired thing is that ,i got my BIO code 2 done one month before the approval so how can it be missing.
Now i have to wait until i get a letter from them for BIO. :mad:
 
Any update on those of u who didn't receive GC after approval

I called the 800 number few weeks back and was told my bio is missing and i have to wait 60 days as stated on the welcome notice before they can do anything about it. I had my BIO done when i went for FP appointment in july 2004. The lady on the other end told me that she can't even update my address to my new one until the wait time is over. I just don't understand how USCIS work. it's all messed up. anyway, I called today after the 60 days wait and i was told that the new change of address should trigger a new bio request. I got email confirming the change of address and it will take approximately 90 to 120 days for biometrics appointments to be made. I am hoping i have my GC by April to be able to travel as per my plan.

konjit911, let me tell you what happened in your case. Your BIO expired in OCT(expires after 15 months), same month your case was approved. So, you need to get the BIO redone. You should get a letter for it soon.
I don't know what you approval letter says. bcoz mine says i should call if i don't receive GC in 3 weeks ( though calling didn't help me much).
If urs says so to , you can always tell them. The officer doesn't know what is written in the letter. It is different for each case.So check yours.

I received my plastic today finally. I am really happy about it now. For most people wait ends when case is approved as they receive card within few days.
But for me wait started the day i was approved. It finally ended after enormous calls to INS and personal visits to local offices to figure out what's delaying the issue of card. But anyway it's a happy ending and i have no hard feeling now. Nothing could be better before New Year day than this. I wish good luck to you all waiting for their cards.
 
Asylee13 congrats on your card. i just called them again today to check on mine and i was told that i am scheduled for bio on jan 6th and should get the letter soon. i am hoping that i will get my GC by Jan end.

Bobbywang, i don't know. My access to online status is blocked from the day my I-485 was approved. I was transferred to an immigration officer everytime i called to check on the status. Believe me it was a rough ride. Proves one thing.... even the immigration officers you are transferred to , don't know anything. Actually, only people sitting in Nebraska know what's happening and there is no way to talk to them except writing to them which they never reply.
 
I finally did bio again today. though I submitted change of address form and also called them before the bio was sent out, they still sent the bio letter to my old address . I had to call them yesterday to fax me a copy of the receipt. I was told that their servers don't sync information like change of address:) local office were ok with a copy of receipt. an hour after doing bio, i received a mail saying that they have ordered my card. Thanks God!!! I also see the online status has changed. any idea how long it will take for me to get my card? I am thinking a week or so.

Finally your rough ride had a happy ending. Is your GC backdated as Sept 2004 or Dec 2004 ?

Did your online status change from what to what ? Asylee13 's online access was blocked after approval.

It changed from approval notice sent to card ordered.
