Thread OPEN to Post Questions for April 02, 2020 Conference Call

Respected Mr Khanna,
My parents are both green card holders and they are currently in India and they had a scheduled flight to return to the US on April 1st, 2020 which now has been cancelled due to Covid-19. I could rebook their flight but I am afraid to have them travel at this time due to the high risk factors of age and other underlying conditions. They will be completing the 6 months of staying outside the USA on April 15th, 2020. There is so much uncertainty as to when this whole virus problem will subside. In this situation what should I do ? Should I file for extension for them to stay outisde the US for more than 180 days? Please advise so they don't lose their green card. Thank you very much! Thank you, that did answer most of my queries but will the continuous residency status be affected since they are compelled to stay out of US for more than 6 months due to current pandemic?
