Hi there,

One of my friends applied at the end of July and got his IL for march. I have also seen many people who applied in June and July getting ILs.

So I think if you applied after June and are not stuck in name check you will complete your citizenship process in 8 to 9 months.

I believe they stated 16 to 18 months for those like me who got stuck in name check so that we do not get our hopes up after we see others' interview letters.

Regards

I'm already doing some basic research into filing a WOM. Being that I'm likely to get stuck in name check (I'm Russian), I want to have everything ready to go as soon as I hit the 18 month mark, if it should happen.

As indicated before, there is a big discrepancy in processing time between DOs. So I think it would be premature to make a statement saying that processing won't take up to 16-18 months based on a few examples. So far, several posters from Ohio, Houston, San Antonio, and Atlanta DOs have indicated receipt of IL. There are many more examples of applicants from other DOs who filed at the same time who have only now received their FP notice.

Anyone else from TSC who has received FP notice (other than the super lucky tnsbagman)? Still waiting...

I received my NOA in the end of December. I saw people start getting their FP notices even their PD was after mine .I called to USCIS 800-number to find out about my FP notice. The lady (real IO not cust repr)told me it can take up to 2-3 month to get a FP notice in some cases. I've got mine last week as you can see on my sign.

It all depends on where you live. For folks in NYC and DC it doesn't look good.

Vik Pal, NYC looks fine. There have been more reports of June 2007 applicants getting ILs this past week. Our DO is actually a lot faster than many others. I believe D.C. is still reporting processing dates from December 2006.

Compared to Boston, NYC D.O looks great. I wish I lived there!

Also, on the few occasions that I've landed in JFK, IOs there have been very polite. Boston Airport IOs have for the most part been quite nasty. I hope the airport Immigration Officers are a different lot from the ones that interview you for citizenship.

Look at my timeline. I was not expecting interview letter atleast for next 3 months. But to my surprise I got it today.
