hi Everyone
thank you again for any help.

Currently, I am in 2 year marriage based conditional GC.
I am thinking about adding my husband's last name into mine. Because we think it will be easier once we have children.
But I afraid that will be a big hassle. Especially, it is not as simple anymore since I will have to get a new GC and deal with USCIS.
In addition, on my passport there is 2 name indicated. One is normal western name, another is English spelled my Chinese name. Right now, on my GC is the English spelled my Chinese pronunciation one. I am thinking about switch to the Western name. (just easier  )

I don't know if all this is possible? Will this be a very complicated process? Where should I start (or this is a bad idea)? when is the best time to do this (maybe I should do it when I apply for Citizenship? or renew my GC?...etc?)

thank you for any help for feedback

based on your marriage certificate, you can only change your maiden name to your married name. Changing it on a GC may be too long and troublesome.

To change your name to a Western name without going through court, you have to wait till you apply for citizenship and then you indicate which name you want to have.

thank you so much.

So I guess I will try to change my first and last name all together when I am filing for my Citizenship.
You think that will be a lot easier?
Will changing name thing might slow down and confused USCIS when I am applying for citizenship, you think?

I don't want to get stuck in the country or in the process, just because of the name change:eek:

thank you very mcuh
