I have a question please guide me;in form of I-134; what things should the sponsor accept to take care of? There are many expenses for sponsoring: travel, lodging, boarding, food, medicare,...
I mean are there any "at least expenses" for sponsors to accept? What did your sponsers accept by this form?

Regards,

hi,

thanks for your reply, isn't there any rule? for example, writing only furnishing and food for us are enough? and for how long should he sponsor us? 2, 6, 12 months or for ever?!!

regards,

If one wins DV, does it mean that they cannot, within the stipulated timeframe, apply for Finacial Aid (for College) or live in public (subsidised) housing?

financial aid for college is available from day one, and does not make you a public charge.

If subsidized housing is sponsored by the state (not federal), you are eligible. However, you need to be very poor (but still working full-time), or very old or disabled. And, in big cities, you get to wait your turn for a long time. I know a couple in their 60s who waited for 2 years for a subsidized apartment. If they'd take the apt, they'd have to prove on a yearly basis that they were still poor, so that would take away any desire to make more money and make a better life for themselves, so they abandoned the idea of living in subsidized housing. And, since their earnings exceeded a certain very low threshold, they'd have to pay $700/month for the subsidized apt anyway. You can find a one-bedroom apt for less than that in our area.

Thanx for the information. From the second part of your answer, in your opinion, which city would be relatively easier for someone who has never been to the US, and only has a teacher's certificate (which I understand is unlikely to get me a job in teaching anyway).

I don't know since everybody has their own preferences

only has a teacher's certificate (which I understand is unlikely to get me a job in teaching anyway).
Is it a bachelor's diploma or just some piece of paper showing you took a couple of classes?

No, this is a diploma in Education (4 year college training) after the GCE O'level.

I don't know what that means. Is it an equivalent to a bachelor's degree? if yes, sure, you can become a teacher. If not, finish your education and become a teacher.

No!!!. You can. I came to the US in 2006 Nov, I had a 1-34 that covered me my wife and my two kids for 3 years. I lived with my cousin in Virginia for 3 Months and moved out to my own apartment (In January), I qualifed for finaNcial aid and joined college college in April. So nothing is imposible as long as you are in the US
