Not to take away from what Kashmir is doing - this is incredibly fantastic work, however because of the work he has done - specifically giving us all a view into the actual processing that is happening at CSC, we get a "false" sense of optimism because we see cases being approved and being touched.
(Although we have even seen the numbers taper off in the last couple of weeks even in this scan that he does.)
However we still get a false sense of optimism as Kashmirs data set is getting close to being a complete view of all cases for WAC02.
PCee's list and trends has a longer history, (although not nearly as complete a data set because it's voluntary of people that actually visit this site) and because of the fact that it has a longer history, we can get a real sense of the actual approval speed at CSC.
In the graph below, I have plotted the last 14 months of approvals from PCees spreadsheet.
The interesting trend to note is apart from an intial blip in February, approvals have dropped off to virtually nothing, being so slow that PCee only updated his spreadsheet once in the last month.
The other interesting thing to note is that if you correlate the approvals on PCees spreadsheet (voluntary update of PCees users) with the total approvals we see from Kashmirs work and then extrapolate that to the approval levels on PCees spreadsheet prior to last November, it gives you an appreciation of how many approvals we should be seeing from Kashmirs sheet on a daily basis....more like 200-400 per day, not 5-10, if CSC were actually off their asses and processing at normal speed.
