The Process After winning the Green card

I am a dv winner(2010) from Sri Lanka.
I got my winning letter last June, 2010 from Kentucky Consular Center of Department of State.
I confirmed that I have been selected through the official site.
I have done my high school 2006. This is the reason that I have been selected.
Actually I sent the completed all documents today (12.08.2009).
I have some important questions and vital details to know from you.
1). Am I late to submit my completed documents to KCC?
2). I have a relation(Not near relation) who is resident in USA. But he is willing to sponsor for me.
But I would like to know what kind of form he has to send me or what he must do?
3). Also what kind of document I must submit to the date of VISA interview.
Specially I am a student now. So is it compulsory to show the documents regarding future studies in USA?
4). Should I show my financial details in the VISA interview date?
If that is the case, how much should my dad's have in his bank account?
5). And the important details I must know.
I will be glad you if you can send me these information as soon as possible.
Thank you

What is your case#?
If you just send out the requested papers to KCC a.s.a.p., than you can worry about the rest later on.
You need to have a sponsor to proof funds for a single person and you can find it if you google "poverty guidelines usa".
The financial proof should be brought to the interview, in case they ask you to show proof of it.

1). Am I late to submit my completed documents to KCC?

No, you're not late. Just take in mind that KCC needs about 12 weeks to process your forms. So in case your case number is current for October (see Visa Bulletin) they might not be able to schedule you for the next step in October. But that's no problem, then you will be scheduled for the next month.

2). I have a relation(Not near relation) who is resident in USA. But he is willing to sponsor for me.
But I would like to know what kind of form he has to send me or what he must do?

Form I-134 (see instructions DV-2010 on the official DV website). As Bentlebee mentioned, there are guidelines on how much money a sponsor need to earn per year. Just read the instructions for the I-134 form.

3). Also what kind of document I must submit to the date of VISA interview.
Specially I am a student now. So is it compulsory to show the documents regarding future studies in USA?

The package that had your notification letter also included a list of documents that you should start preparing after sending back the forms to KCC. If I remembered correctly they called it Step 4. These include documents such as your birth certificate, police certificate, etc. Just follow the list in the package.

4). Should I show my financial details in the VISA interview date?
If that is the case, how much should my dad's have in his bank account?

If you have a sponsor who signed the I-134 form then you have already proven that you won't become a public charge. That is sufficient. You either have to have a sponsor, a job offer, or financial assets (e.g. enough money on a bank account). See the DV-2010 instructions.

5). And the important details I must know.

Just relax and follow the instructions as mentioned in the first (notification) package that you received from KCC. And if in doubt, just search this forum or post your question.

(see my answers in your quote) Good luck!

Thank you so much Bentlebee and DC2010...
I got a great idea from DC2010. yeah.. Thank you lot..

Now
1) Where should my sponsor have to submit the I-134 form? To me or US Embassy in Sri Lanka?
2) My case no is 2010AS0000XXXX. (I guess there is related with case no and interview date) - Bentlebee asked this from me. So when you guess my interview will be held?

You dont need I-134 for US embassy in Sri Lanka, just a letter from a sponsor saying he will take care of you until u settle down in USA, is enough.

wat the 1st no off your case no? 0000xxxx is not clear for me.

If you don't mention any number we have no clue...you could mention 3 zero's and two real digits of your case # and the last digits put a x for them...for example: 00012xx...

Right now the cut off # is 7000 for Asia. (Oct. 2009)

My case number is 2010AS00004xxx. You all can see that this year 7000 a huge number current for Asia. Can anyone guess that if my interview will be scheduled in october'09 or will be held in next month because of this huge cut-off numbers for october?

CN: 2010AS00004xxx.
NL issued : May 04,2009.
NL recieved : May 26, 2009.
Sent back to KCC: June 04.
KCC Confirmed that they recieved my documents.

I guess it should be October...probable less people have returned their papers or they might be incomplete. If the returned papers are showing things that will not approve a GC, I think they will be put aside....if something might be open for explanation I think they will get further to get the interview.
Due to the economy over here, I think many people don't want to risk moving.

After reading many blogs I have come to the conclusion that a lot of people didn't realize that you won't get the GC just if you have a HS diploma, but you need to have some money and that the process is also costing money, which not every one has.

Thanks for quick replying. I asked KCC about my case. They answered in August 13,2009 that my documens are approved and are under processing. They cant say that when my interview will be held. State government will designate my interview date and then KCC will inform me. Can you guess that when will they send me 2nd letter? Thanks again.

If your case number is 4xxx and your are sure you returned your form early as soon as you received your notification letter then be expecting your letter any time from now.

Thank you very much for your hopeful answer. It is really difficult to wait for that. But have to wait. Please bless for me. Thank you friend.
