The online messgae for filers after 7/31

Mine was received on 9/4, check cashed on 11/15. I've yet to receive NOA and have my status info posted online. Incidentally, the latest receipt number that appears online is ESC*002065100. No numbers following that one have been entered since 11/15.

That is the problem. My receipt number is way ahead of the what you quote above. I am around the ESC*00205XXX ball park. Again, this clearly points to randomization or ineptitude (I can't make up my mind).

Every single thing I put my finger with immigration to do, backlog one after another showed up.

What do you expect ? Citizenship is not a right, it is priviledge and Backlogs were to be expected with the USCIS raising their Fees.

There are People on this Board that have waited Years for this and some even still wait.

USCIS is not so bad. Yes they are overwhelmed but they are just people like you and me who answer phones to thousands of people each day. Wonder how you would handle this if you were on the other end.

If I was going to handle this, I would fail your case. J.K.
No, I was just trying to make myself feel better and you did it. THank you.

Fee increase is a really good subject to blame everything on it. Totally agree.

My number is ESC*00208XXXX. However, the last number that shows up on the website (which is around 15,000 before mine) has been received on 9/17, according to the information returned when the number has been entered. There has been a lot speculation that the service centers issue receipt numbers randomly, but that still doesn't explain how applications received after mine, as well as yours, have already been receipted and entered into the system.

Don't get me wrong. I do understand your Frustration. I had to deal (only) twice with USCIS and had to put my foot down. Once because I wrote the wrong amount on the check and they returned my Application BUT NOT TO ME. To a Lady living in Nebraska I think and I wrote USCIS a down to the point letter because as you know. The N-400 has a LOT of sensitive Information on it and if the Lady wouldn't of been so kind to contact me who knows what hole I would be in now. The second time had to do with Address Change. I only moved from one street to another .. so same town and I sent in a AR-11 during the Process. So I called them after I recieved the return reciept to check if they had updated it in the computer. Getting it is one thing, updating it is another so she said she can't see that on her screen when I called and told me to schedule a Infopass. So I drove 130 Miles there for a 3 min Infopass just to find out that it had been updated in the computer AND that she could of told me that on the phone so I drove 130 Miles back.

Anyway .. here is some advice. I would say the first 3-4 month I checked 10-15 times a day the online status. I paced up and down the floor. As soon as the mailman came I ran to the mailbox. I mean seriously it consumed me. So I said enough of that and let things go. And then .. I think in August TOTALLY unexpected I got my Interview Notice. And oh yea, my online status is still up, lol.

I hope things will go smoothly for you and I wish you the best and I apologize if I sounded rude earlier. Didn't mean to.

It is very confusing now with limited information we have, in addition to the fact that none of us has received the actual receipt yet. My check has 3 different numbers and I am not even sure which one is the receipt#. In the fron there is ESC*207XX (only 9 numbers) followed by VTXXX. on the back there is another full 13 charcter ESC* that is different than the front. the online messgae says received on 9/14 while it is catually received on 8/14. I guess I am going listen to the ladybuggy and relax and let it go untill I have the receipt in hand.

I ignored the VT number, as I have no clue what it actually means. On the front of my check, I also have an ESC number, followed by 7 digits. I just inserted *00 between ESC and the numbers. There is no ESC number on the back of my check. What's strange is that you still don't have a receipt.

***Edit: Upon closer examination of the digital image of my cashed check, there is indeed a full 13-digit ESC number printed on the back of the check. The number is completely different that the one handwritten on the front of the check. When I checked the number on the USCIS site, the result was "On September 18, 2007, we received...". The date is exactly 2 weeks after my application was received. Oh well, I won't complain about a 2 week difference.
