Friends,

After long wait my oath ceremony is scheduled for June 15th at Saltlake city.
I got my GC in 2000 and went back to India in 2003 to take care of my father. Came back to USA in 2007 and applied for citizenship in Dec 2007. Case was rejected because of insufficient number of days. Applied for N-400 again in Feb 2010 and case was rejected again as the IO told that I have only 911 days instead of 913.

Applied for N-400 again in Jan 2011 and attended for interview in March. Case was kept in pending sofar. Only this MOnday I got the Oath letter. Thanks to all members for your guidence and support.

Now I have one question.

What all documents I need to submit if I want to apply for US passport for my son along with me. My son is 6 yrs old and he is born in India.

Is N-600 is necessary for foreign born kids

Friends once again thank you verymuch.

Then you can apply for a passport for him using your naturalization certificate and his GC.

The evidence to submit depends on a few other considerations. If you are the father, it takes more. If you are the birth parent, at a minimum it also requires a birth certificate. If an adopted child, there is an adoption decree.

Whatever, if there is another parent, that parent has to be present or sign a consent. Visit the State Dept. website and read up about requirements.

While an N-600 is not required, it is a wise follow-up to the passport because it will not expire unlike that passport which will, at his age, expire in 5 years.
